One Week International Chess Tournament

 Sadurangam GM Chess Academy is happy to announce the much awaited special tournament for the celebration of 75th  Independence day  of India. 

Tournament Dates : 22 August 21, to 28 August 21

Category: Open 

Time control: 20 +0

Rounds:7 [ Sunday to Saturday- one round every day ]

Time: 6 pm IST [ all 7 days]

Tournament entry fees: Rs 125/-

Last date for registration :  Friday,20 August,21

Prizes:  !st, 2nd and 3rd place Trophies, for 4th to 10th Place players Cash prizes/ gift vouchers  . Winners may collect the trophies in person or get the trophies through courier paying the actual courier charges.

TAMIL NEW YEAR SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL ONLINE CHESS TOURNAMENT

 Sadurangam GM Chess Academy Proudly plans to conduct Tamil New Year Special International Online Chess Tournament on 18 April 2021 , 5.15 pm IST. 

Important things to note : Time control: 15+0 , Tournament entry Rs 115/- can be paid through : 9894790209@ upi , suman15@icici or direct transfer to N.SUBRAMANIAN , 603801512639 IFSC: ICIC0006038 ICICI Bank Mount Road branch. 

Prizes: Winning Trophies for top 3 Participants,. Best Player U8 , U12 and U16 .Physical Certificates and prizes for all participants.

Requirements : Account in lichess.com. ( it is free , get a user name and password)

You may also refer, forward to your known friends/relatives and other chess players.

 1. Tournament will be conducted as per swiss league system(7 rounds)

 2. There will be 2 min break after the completion of each round.

 3. One player shall receive one prize only. 

 4. Decision taken by the organizer or Arbiter-in-charge or Anti- Cheating panel will be final.

 5. Organizer will not be responsible for any network issue during the tournament.

 6. No phone call will be entertained during the tournament. 

7. Final standings will be announced on 21st April after the anti-cheating panel completes the screening test. 

8. Prizes /Certificates need to be collected in person. For outstation candidates, these can be collected through courier paying the courier charges to the academy. 

 9. If any player's information stands wrong then his/her candidature may get cancelled at any time before/during/after the tournament. 

10. Registration: Intending players should have to furnish their NAME, LICHESS ID 

11.After successful registration, you will get a confirmation mail and the tournament password on or before 16th April to join in our team for the tournament .

How to checkmate the opponent king with 2 bishops ?

STEP 1: First you need to gain control over the central squares (e4,d4,e5,d5) using bishops and control a1-h8 and h1-a8 diagonal.

STEP 2: Place your bishops in d4 and in e4

STEP 3: .Relocate your king from d1 to c5

STEP 4: Now move your bishops as shown with blue arrows to squeeze more space from the Black's King.

STEP 5: Repeat the Step 4 and squeeze more space from black's king

STEP 6: Move Your king from d6 to h6

Taking f8 square from the king and forcing to go in the corner.
